The M4-96D was designed to meet specific military requirements for a compact, high-efficiency, quickly detachable suppressor for the 5.56mm Colt M4A1 carbine. In addition to the requirements, it was necessary that the system remain compatible with all normal military accessories for this weapon. The M4-96D suppressor meets and exceeds these requirements in a physically small package. The patented mounting system utilizes Gemtech’s special Bi-Lock™ flash hider similar to the conventional M16-A2 bird-cage flash hider. The mounting system reduces installation and removal to a simple push-and-twist motion. By utilizing our high-efficiency Bi-Lock™ flash hiders on a variety of weapons, the M4-96D suppressor can be quickly, easily, and securely moved from weapon to weapon as the tactical situation requires. The M4-96D is rated for semiautomatic fire and bursts of fully automatic fire and cannot loosen during firing. The M4-96D is designed to be operated with only minimal maintenance to the mounting system, and there is no need to disassemble the baffle stack. In addition to outstanding sound reduction capabilities, it is unparalleled for flash reduction. This capability reduces blooming in night vision devices while reducing risk in a combustible atmosphere.
